Meet the Artist- Hannah Howland

My art practice focuses on female empowerment, and what this statement truly means to women and society. Through my art I have explored aspects of the female body, like bruises and scars, that under normal circumstance would be hidden from view. I use hand embroidery to entwine this element with typical traditional feminine themes and colours, to make my pieces more accessible to viewers. In my current art work I am focusing on exploring other elements that are associated with female empowerment and how they can differ opinions.
