Through the medium of illustration, I am focusing on the theme of validating emotional vulnerability among women, through the use of responses from the public posed by my illustrations. This theme has stemmed from my interest in 1980's and 1990's feminist punk groups and movements, who aimed to create female communities through their use of music and art. I am aiming to create my own female community using various mediums such as my own website and by holding pop-up shops which are open to female members of the public- uniting women through the theme of validating their feelings, thoughts and emotions. the reinforcement of validating emotional vulnerability and transferring my illustration style onto different materials through various creative methods is something which i plan to explore within my exhibition piece.
